seriously its time for a change when it comes to how hospitals are run, managed, or whatever you call it. have i missed a memo that stated hospitals are now lil dictatorships, where some get good care an others dont? ive really had it with hospitals, to the point i dont even want to go to one even if i get in a car accident.

ive been to multiple hospitals in my area, be it for myself or for my sister or for my mother. they are all the same an it discusts me.
your probably wonderin what brought this all on, well my mothers latest hospital stay just really made me snap.

what has me so angry with hospitals? oh theres a list.
1. lack of compassion/courtesy/kindness - there is NOT enough of those three at ALL in hospitals today. im sorry but in my eyes when ya decide to take up a medical career, especially with nurses an nurse aids, you are NOT allowed to be mean/grouchy/moody/agitated/annoyed/pissy/an any other word that fits with that. i dont care HOW bad your day is, i can guarantee you that your patients have it 10times worse then you do. aside from some druggys lookin for pills or people pullin insurance fraud NO one WANTS to be in a hospital to be poked an prodded, patients in a hospital tend to be miserable so some understantin is expected or one would think. im seriously tired of lookin for help in a hospital only to get nothin but attitude as if i just said a joke in bad taste.

2. a abundance of lazyness an halfass-ness - ok there is WAY too much of this, i have SEEN it an i have had it. it is RIDICULOUS to make a patient wait an go hungry for 14hrs more then ONCE for 'blood work'. ok i can understand doctors not wantin patients to eat incase a emergency procedure is needed, HOWEVER it is outrageous to make a patient wait that long after the tests are done because you havent gotten ahold of the doctor yet. ok there only 1 word for that an its LAZINESS, when your a nurse or a doctor you dont get a break until ALL your patients are comfortable. thats it, no exceptions! not nough help? then get off your ass an call someone in! the states are in a recession for pete sakes, theres people out there that need jobs an i bet theres a bunch that probably are medically trained so GET HIRING! on the half-assed note, im tired of things only gettin half done. im tired of seein people left in halls, im tired of seein fall risk patients callin for help to the bathroom only to have to wait 20min to a hour for assistance. its NOT acceptible, period!

3. the habit of ignore them till they do it themselves - ok this is a bit of #2 that i wanted to talk bout more, this had me so mad last night i almost hurt someone just to vent my anger. just typin this part has me gettin pissed off all over again, nurses especially suffer from this an inturn the patients suffer needlessly. ill give you a example here.. my mother is a fall risk patient, that means she cant get up an move round without help or she trips or stumbles an falls. so last night after they discharged her she was waitin for transport to take her downstairs for me to pick her up for 20minutes, she paged an paged them an got NOTHIN. so she was forced to get out of bed an hobble out into the hall, when she talked to a nurse bout needin to get downstairs they said 'well transport isnt here yet so either wait or you can walk down there yourself'. they told my mother with a yellow fall risk band that.. to walk down teh hall to the elevator an ride it down 3 floors then walk round the hospital to the pickup exit. oh i was ANGRY, if my car hadnt been in such bad shape i would have stayed there an made sure some one was fired. there is NO excuses for that, how DARE a nurse that is supposed to help people say that!

4. dodgin of blame an lack of communication - this is just retarded at this day an age, it shouldnt even exist in a hospital of all places. when you catch the nurses or the welcome desk clerk bullshittin ya its always someone elses fault or its a communication error, this should be a fire-able offense im serious. its like they are a bunch of toddlers pointin to the other, blamin someone else for the vase they broke. whatever happened to takin responsibility for ones actions? whatever happened to bein the bigger person an admitin ya was wrong an screwed up? if you cant do your job then QUIT, of you cant admit your wrong then QUIT an if communications are THAT bad then fix them or have the boss fix them.

5. discrimination - oh yes im goin there. this really gets to me as well, this is more so directed at the people that run the hospital an the ones that work the billin department. im fed up with the discrimination, now i dont mean a person with a bad cold bein bumped back in line for a gunshot victim, im talkin financial discrimination. whether a person has money/insurance or not shouldnt effect how one is treated. they claim that its not true but it is, i should know. when you have money an have good insurance then you get the million dollar treatment like your royalty, however if you have government insurance or no insurance an no money then its so sad too bad get the hell out. if your poor you dont get the same treatment, you get the bare minimun treatment an a boot in the ass. then the bills come, the thousands of dollars sized bills. even if you fill out the paperwork for financial aid they only take a chunk off an still expect you to make up the balance, whether or not you have any money or not. an when you cant pay them they ship them to collections then your stuck with all the calls from 8am to 8pm every hour on the hour. its just not right, if your genuinely poor an have no money then hospital care should be free. i know some will laugh at that idea but oh well thats just my opinion.

well thats the majority of the list for now, im havin a lot of interruptions at the moment so i cant focus right now. rest assured i WILL be updatein this when i have time again.

let it be known that this rant isnt only bout nurses or nurses aids, though they are the main focus of a lot of my aggitation. this rant is aimed at hospital nurses, nurses aids, doctors, financial aid, an everyone that is a part of the hospitals function.
